In late February 2023, we headed down the coast of NSW, with van in tow, to Narooma for 3 days, followed by Pambula for 5 days and then Huskisson on the way back for 2 days.
It was a fun trip and the scenery was awesome. We really do live in a fantastic part of the world.

After spending the morning driving south, we arrived at Narooma around 2pm.
We set up the van and then went around the town exploring what was on offer. It had been at least 20+ years since we were there last.
We took a drive around the place and found ourselves at the southern head of the inlet of Narooma river. Admittedly, the weather was not that great on that day, however, we just ignorder that small fact and enjoyed our stay.

On day 2, we left the van and took a drive south, down to Mystery Bay, where we discovered an awesome National Parks camping/RV spot right on the beach!

We continued further south past Wallaga Lake, another pretty area with a single lane bridge across the lake. Then continued on to Bermagui - another place we had not visited in 20+ years. Bermagui has changed a lot and has been made a little tourist getaway with great beaches, facilities and a good pub with a view!
On the way back, we stopped at the Bega Cheese Factory for a bit of a look - turned out a complete waste of time. Would not recommend this to anyone. There was nothing to experience other than a cafe with overpriced merchandise!

We returned back at Narooma, where we spent day 3 sight seeing around Narooma.
On day 4 we packed the van and headed to Pambula, another 2 hrs south, where we caught up with caravanning friends as well as friends from the next suburb to where we live!
Pambula Beach caravan park is right on the beach, but has no views because the van park sits behind a narrow bush area. There is lots of local fauna - heaps of kangaroos and some large lizzards (2 metres in length).
However, 100m from our van was the beach and we saw some spectacular sunrises.

Pambula is a quiet little coastal town, about 20 mins north of Eden and 5 minutes south of Merimbula. Stephanie and I spent day 5 driving down past Eden to the Seahorse Inn at Twofold Bay for lunch with friends. Seahorse Inn's view is as pretty as it was 40 years ago when I first visited on a fishing trip with mates.

We were quite surprised to see a cruise ship docked at Eden wharf, where passengers disembarked for a daytrip of Eden and surrounds. A cruise ship was not what we were ever expecting to see here!
We also visited Boyd's Tower, which is located over the right hand hill in the photo above. It really isn't walking distance as it is right on the coast and takes about 20 mins to drive there.
The coastline was spectacular and the cliffs were a bright red colour.
The following day (day 6) was spent at the van park catching up with other caravanning friends.
Day 7 saw us doing some sightseeing around Merimbula and surrounds. There is some spectacular scenery around the hinterland area as you can see below...

We stayed a total of 5 days at Pambula before starting our journey back home with a quick stop at Huskisson. On the way back north, we had to drive through Narooma once again, but this time the weather had really come good with the sun shining, and Narooma lake glistening....

We continued North and reached Huskisson. This was to be our rest stop for a couple of night before heading home. We had a great spot in the van park with a view of Jervis Bay.

Huskisson Beach is a very pretty area. The water looked great and we had to have a dip!
The sunrises over Jervis Bay were also fantastic!

Yes, the South Coast is lovely, but we still prefer the north coast, as the water temperatures and air temperatures are so much warmer. However, it was a fun getaway for us!
